Blacksburg Town Council Strategic Goals for 2016 - 2017.

As a member of the Corridor Committee for several years, Leslie was instrumental in creating the town’s Bike Master Plan.

Co-founded Blacksburg’s Summer Solstice Fest, now in its 11th year.

Originated a public arts display with an environmental character, the 16 Frogs Watershed Initiative.  It cultivates awareness of our town history, our freshwater heritage, and our unique location on the Eastern Divide.  Look for them around town!

As Director of the Downtown Merchants of Blacksburg, conceived and launched Up on the Roof.

Member of the select group of leaders who collaborated on the Roanoke-Blacksburg Technology Council’s  Innovation Blueprint for regional cooperation.

Sponsored and promoted legal Accessory Dwelling Units in Blacksburg, on the condition that the owner live in the home.  This allows people to age in place; to afford the cost of a starter home; to live well on a modest budget; and it contributes to neighborhood quality of life. 

Supported food trucks in town limits and outdoor dining opportunities.  Was also part of the team of citizens who helped craft incentives for businesses in the downtown.
